It Takes a Village to Raise a Family, Kelly Bryson, MFT
Not only does it take a village to raise a child, it takes a village to provide the supportive “field” a family needs to raise their children with unconditional love and patient wisdom. Margaret Meade said, “For fifty thousand years human beings lived peacefully in clan societies. Only in recent times have we broken down into the nuclear family”. In today’s fragmented culture, violence and revenge are glorified from Homer to Hollywood to Harry Potter. To raise our children nonviolently and without coercion is counter to our culture; therefore, we need to create Sub-Cultures that do support values of Nonviolence, Autonomy and Transparency. Come learn ‘tribal technologies’ to support the growth of group connectedness within your nuclear family and for developing a community that will support your family’s values and enrich the family spirit.
Kelly Bryson MA, MFT, is the author of the best selling book, Don't be Nice, Be Real - Balancing Passion for Self with Compassion for Others. A Handbook to Nonviolent Communication™.
